How was White Linen Night? PDF Print E-mail
On Saturday August 23rd, St. Francisville celebrated its first White Linen Night. Not knowing what to expect from the evening our friends came up from New Orleans to spend the night and partake in this event. We hopped on the trolley in front of the Inn and rode the route to the end of the line by the courthouse. We wanted to start at one end and walk our way along, sampling food and beverages, listening to the different music, checking out the artists and shopping. We had a great time on the trolley stopping to pick up people and dropping people off along the way. It was so much fun to see people both local and tourists walking along the streets chatting and laughing with anticipation on their faces to see what was going to be at their next stop. We had a blast moving along the street talking with friends and strangers, all commenting about how much fun they were having and wanting it to last a little longer. We sampled salad, etoufee, desserts, wine and champagne. We bought gifts, art, clothes, jewelry and presents for birthdays all on this one magical night. We hope this happens again next year, this was the perfect event to end the summer and look forward to the fall.
